Desert to Tropics started out as a small backyard hobby and passion in the nineties moving into street vending in Austin.  When my first son was on the way, I had the idea of taking my inventory to a nursery and selling the lot at a discounted price, and the idea of wholesale was envisioned.  The growth increased and we had no room to put plants in the backyard anymore, so we decided in late 2002 to move to the outer city limits with the land.  There we developed a wholesale location that has grown to be a household name in the plant industry.  Soon we were seeing big names like Whole Foods Market walking through our doors asking for orders. We have strived to provide the best availability and highest quality of these drought-tolerant plants, and continue to strive with the same passion and hobby feel that started over 25 years ago.
